Denise Oswald will join Pantheon Books as editorial director, starting April 19 and reporting to publisher Lisa Lucas. She was most recently executive editor at Ecco. Lucas said in the announcement, “Her decades of experience, coupled with her professionalism, collegiality, editorial vision and ability to balance both art and commerce, are going to serve our imprint well and help to shape our future.”
Yahdon Israel will join Simon & Schuster as senior editor, starting March 22. He was previously editorial director of Northside Media and editor-in-chief of Brooklyn Magazine.
At Inkyard Press, Claire Stetzer joined as editor. She was previously associate editor at Bloomsbury Children’s. Stephanie Cohen joined as editor. She was previously associate editor, journals at Springer Nature.
Kim Lauber has been promoted to executive director, children’s marketing at Abrams.
At HMH, Mary Magrisso has been promoted to managing editor, children’s, overseeing all children’s and heading the children’s managing editorial group. Helen Seachrist has been promoted to senior production editor, children’s; Melissa Cicchitelli to manager of production for Etch and children’s special sales; Emma Grant to production coordinator, children’s; and Kimberly Kiefer to lead production coordinator, general interest/lifestyle.
Longtime PW executive editor Daisy Maryles, 73, died in a New York City hospital on March 18.
