The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is suing Pearson for disability discrimination, arguing that the company “failed to provide employees who are blind or have other visual impairments with equal access to employee benefits, performance, leave information and required trainings.” Pearson contracted with third-party online platforms to provide information on benefits, leave, and trainings, but due to technical issues with the platforms, individuals who use screen readers were not able to access the information.
