This week’s fiction releases include stories by Stephen King, a prequel to Chocolat by Joanne Harris, and a new romance from Bolu Babalola, while new nonfiction includes Arundhati Roy’s memoir, Helen Garner’s work on adolescence and football, and a final collection from Nikki Giovanni.

Among September’s children’s releases is new work by Angeline Boulley, Katherine Applegate, Rebecca Stead, and Katherine Rundell, plus a new Sonia Sotomayor picture book and Stephen King’s retelling of Hansel and Gretel with art from Maurice Sendak.

We consult a number of sources in compiling our weekly lists and PM members can see our lists for the coming months on Bookshop. Check out September‘s 91 fiction releases, 81 works of nonfiction, and 38 children‘s titles; October‘s 61 fiction releases, 37 works of nonfiction, and 23 children‘s titles; and November‘s 103 fiction releases, 57 works of nonfiction, and 26 children‘s titles.

But if you want to make sure your key titles are on our radar, now you can use this form to submit brief details as well: publun.ch/submitNotable. Please submit your notable titles at least 3 months prior to pub date and limit your submissions to selected, notable titles each season only; otherwise it’s too much for us to consider.
