Quirk Books will move their sales and distribution to Random House Publisher Services as of January 1, ending a nine-year relationship with Chronicle Books. Nigel Roby, managing director of UK trade magazine The Bookseller, has reached an agreement “in principle” to buy the property from Nielsen. The magazine says that “negotiations are expected to conclude at the end of April. All the editorial, sales and marketing and events teams will remain in place.” At Wiley, Steve Miron is being promoted to svp of the STMS (scientific, technical, medical, and scholarly) division, effective May 1. They have been distributed by Consortium since 2003 Marcy Posner, formerly agent and foreign rights director at Sterling Lord Literistic, has joined Folio Literary Management as an agent specializing in children’s and young adult as well as women’s fiction, romance and serious and commercial non-fiction.
