Penguin Random House India announced new publishing, sales and marketing leadership appointments and a cross-company organizational structure, effective April 1. Penguin India publisher Chiki Sarkar will become publisher of Penguin Random House India, reporting to Penguin Random House India CEO Gaurav Shrinagesh. (She was previously Random House India’s first editor-in-chief in 2006.) Milee Ashwarya and Meru Gokhale will both serve as publishing director, Penguin Random House India, reporting to Sarkar. Publishing Technology will promote chief operating officer of their online division Michael Cairns, who joined the company a year ago, to CEO, as of April 1. The self-published STONE EDGE FARM COOKBOOK, from the Sonoma, CA farm and vineyard of the same name, won the IACP‘s Cookbook of the Year award, along with honors as best first book. The illustrated $60 book appears to be available for sale only directly through the farm. The Authors Guild has elected novelist Roxana Robinson as their new president, taking over from Scott Turow after four years of service. She is joined by Judy Blume, Richard Russo, and James Shapiro as co-vice presidents. CJ Lyons joined the Guild’s executive Council.
