Patrick Nolan has been promoted to vp, editor-in-chief and associate publisher at Penguin Books, reporting to Kathryn Court. He fills the position being vacated by Stephen Morrison when he joins Picador. Editorial director of Book Business and Publishing Executive magazines Noelle Skodzinski has left the company, publisher Matt Steinmetz confirms to DBW. Palgrave Macmillan is launching a new imprint, Palgrave Pivot, that will blend journal and digital-short publishing models. Setting aside any doubts about Macmillan’s committment to Picador, the company has hired Stephen Morrison as vp, publisher for Picador Books starting April 30. He will report to both Jonathan Galassi and Stephen Rubin. Morrison is currently associate publisher and editor-in-chief at Penguin.
