Tu Books founder and publisher Stacy Whitman will leave the company in September. She will continue to run the Winsted, CT bookstore The Curious Cat Bookshop and will offer editorial consulting services.

Sarah Hamilton has been promoted to senior designer, brand design.

Emma Hill has been promoted to associate marketing manager, children’s.

Library Journal, School Library Journal, and The Horn Book

Media Source Inc. has reorganized its media group “to reflect a renewed emphasis on editorial excellence, cross-brand collaboration, and a commitment to addressing the long-term needs of the communities it serves.” Group publisher Rebecca T. Miller and editor-in-chief of SLJ Kathy Ishizuka, (who was also partnerships & innovation director at LJ & SLJ) will both leave the company as a result of the restructuring.

Library Journal editor-in-chief Hallie Rich will serve as editorial director of both Library Journal and School Library Journal, where she “will lead editorial strategy and content development across both publications.”

Despite the consolidation of executives, MSI president and ceo Robert Gogel says in the announcement: “We’re committed to investing in the platforms, content, and leadership that help librarians anticipate change, advocate for their communities, and inspire lifelong readers.” More candidly, the release concedes, “As is the case for many organizations in the field, MSI is navigating a rapidly evolving landscape.”
