The online retailer will launch a new book sales division to collaborate directly with publisher sales teams. VP of book sales Nadine Vassallo-Frohne will lead the department with director of digital products Ami Greko, who will oversee print initiatives and ebook integrations.

“Our goal is to build closer partnerships with publishers of all sizes, from major houses to independent presses,” says Nadine. “By sharing key updates like launch lists or book club selections, we can help ensure that every book has the chance to reach the readers who are looking for it – and in turn, support the independent bookstores that are at the heart of Bookshop.org’s mission.”

Andy Augusto has been promoted to senior director, international sales.

First Second   

Ivan Taurisano has joined as associate editor. Previously, he was an associate editor at Abrams.

Blackstone Publishing   

Francie Crawford has been promoted to marketing manager.

BookEnds Literary   

Dakota Reed has joined as director of media rights, handling all performance, merchandising, and other media rights. She was previously at Ingram Content Group.

Curtis Brown UK   

The agency’s Curtis Brown Heritage division will represent J.R.R. Tolkien’s estate.

Simon & Schuster   

Wil Apolinario has joined as senior manager, client services and support. He was previously service delivery manager at LVMH Fashion Group.

MetaComent   

James Whittaker joins as vp of sales & business development. Most recently, he was head of sales US and UK at Klopotek.

Scholastic   

Lauren Sánchez Bezos will be a Literacy Champion for The United States of Readers, Scholastic’s classroom to home literacy support program for students in preK through eighth grade attending under resourced schools.
