In yesterday’s other award news, Britain’s Rana Dasgupta won the overall Commonwealth Prize for his novel SOLO. The book was honored with the Guardian’s “Not the Booker” prize last year. (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has rights to the book in the US, scheduled for publication next year.) Australia’s Glenda Guest won the first novel award for SIDDON ROCK.
