After failing to secure a buyer, The Book Nook in Newark, NJ will close on April 1 after nearly 40 years in business. Owner Pat Luckeydoo told the Newark Advocate that she is ready to retire and was unable to find anyone who wanted to buy the store. Closing the store “went from being a last resort to a necessary decision,” she said. “We will definitely miss the customers.
