When Barnes & Noble went live with the revamped version of their website on June 30, there were a number of bumps, including some periods of downtime. But the biggest missing element was their Marketplace, which offers “access to tens of millions of items provided by” third-party sellers, including used books. Quarto Reorganizes, On the Web
The Quarto Group has reorganized the presentation of its catalog of titles to consumers through the just-launched site QuartoKnows.com. The new organizational scheme takes titles from their 20 or so imprints in both the US and UK and presents them in 10 subject groups: Quarto Cooks, Quarto Homes, Quarto Drives, Quarto Kids, Quarto Lives (health & MBS), Quarto Plays (sport & games), Quarto Creates (art, craft & design), Quarto Thinks (culture), Quarto Explores (history, travel, science) and Quarto Gifts. Forthcoming: Knopf to Publish Strayed’s BRAVE ENOUGH In October
Knopf announced they will publish Cheryl Strayed‘s BRAVE ENOUGH, which “will draw from the wide range of Strayed’s writings and hone in on more than 100 of her most popular quotes,” on October 27, with a planned 100,000-copy first printing for the $16.95 hardcover. New Release Radar
Release dates are getting more attention than usual, with Harper Lee and Ta-Nehisi Coates publishing next Tuesday and a new Dr. Seuss coming out at the end of July, but we have a lot more than that on our radar.
