Pam Krauss will join Avery on February 1 in the dual position of vp, publisher, Pam Krauss Books, as well as editor-at-large for Avery, reporting to Megan Newman. In her new role, Krauss will expand Avery’s cookbook and other food-related titles, with the imprint now set to “focus on titles that explore new approaches to eating and living well.” Krauss and her imprint are moving over from Clarkson Potter, where she will retain her editorial association with several of her long-standing authors, who will continue to be published by Potter: Ina Garten, Giada de Laurentiis, and Alice Waters. At the Berkley publishing group, Brent Howard has been promoted to executive editor. Amanda Ng and Katherine Pelz have both been promoted to associate editor. At Random House Children’s, Alice Jonaitis has been promoted to executive editor. In the UK, Alex Clarke will join Headline as publishing director of a new imprint (to be named in April), reporting to Mari Evans. Clarke will hire another editor, and the imprint will focus on “the pursuit of bestsellers by publishing a discerning collection of high quality commercial projects across both fiction and non-fiction.” Clarke is currently publishing director at Michael Joseph, and spent 15 years at Penguin UK. No Longer A Group, Berkley Joins Putnam and Dutton Under Held and Gelbman Departs
On the anniversary of the first big wave of realignments in Penguin’s adult publishing divisions, president Madeline McIntosh announced to staff the next phase.
