John Wiley announced Thursday afternoon an agreement to pay $120 million in cash to acquire Santa Clara, CA-based publishing-software company Atypon. Through their Literatum platform for journal delivery, Atypon serves the STM and scholarly markets with software that “gives publishers direct control over how their content is displayed, promoted and monetized on the web.” Privately-held Atypon is reported to have had sales of over $31 million in 2015.
