Artists, Writers & Artisans (AWA) announced a strategic partnership with International Literary Properties (ILP) to collaborate on projects based on ILP’s roster of literary rights. “Projects may include graphic fiction re-imaginings of classic works” controlled by ILP, as well as film and TV projects through AWA Studios. November’s National Book Awards Ceremony to Feature Drew Barrymore, Oprah Winfrey
The National Book Foundation announced that Drew Barrymore will host the National Book Awards Ceremony on November 15. Additionally, “special guest” Oprah Winfrey “will deliver remarks” at the event.

HC Union Files Grievance Over Termination of Unit Chair
As PL previously reported, Harper Collins terminated Stephanie Guerdan, unit chair of the Harper Collins Union on July 20. On Monday, the union announced that they have “filed a grievance against the publisher in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement and submitted an Unfair Labor Practice charge to the National Labor Relations Board.” Olga Brudastova, president of Local 2110 UAW, says in the announcement, “The company is continuing to spend their resources on union-busting, going so far as to fire our Unit Chair.
