Washington State University Stops Funding for WSU Press
Washington State University has eliminated funding for WSU Press, which would shut it down absent another solution. A cut of $300,000 will take effect at the end of December. The press is 96 years old and has a staff of three full-time employees and one part-time employee. Simon & Schuster will publish WAR by Bob Woodward on October 15, which “tells the revelatory, behind-the-scenes story of three wars—Ukraine, the Middle East and the struggle for the American Presidency.” According to the AP, Woodward “has turned in a completed manuscript, but continues to report and may still revise ‘War’ before it goes to the printers.” “We have the capacity to react quickly if there’s a new development,” a spokesperson told the outlet.
