The organizers of the Polari Prize, which is focused on authors in the UK and Ireland who write about LGBTQ+ life, have canceled this year’s prize, following a controversy about the longlisting of John Boyne’s book EARTH. Ten of 24 authors on the longlist withdrew their books from consideration, citing Boyne’s views on trans issues.
