The Authors Guild has put out a guide for authors to the class action lawsuit against AI company Anthropic. A group of authors including Andrea Bartz, Charles Graeber, and Kirk Wallace Johnson sued in California-based Federal court over the training of the tech company’s AI model on 7 million illegally pirated books. Earlier this summer, Anthropic appealed the certification of the class of authors, claiming the settlement will be a “death knell” for the company. A trial is scheduled for December 1.
