Martha Rivers Ingram, 90, died on August 6. Following her husband Bronson’s death in 1995, she became the chairman of Ingram Industries, and then became CEO as well. Ingram was passionate about the arts and was the recipient of many honors including: an appointment by President Richard Nixon to the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts for the John F. Kennedy Center; a star on the Music City Walk of Fame; and a Kennedy Center Gold Medal in the Arts Award for her lifetime achievements supporting the arts.
