The National Book Foundation kicked off its week of longlist announcements with the nominees for the award for Young People’s Literature. The list includes previous winner Cynthia Kadohata (2013), as well as finalists Jason Reynolds (2016), Laura Ruby (2015), and Laurie Halse Anderson (2008, 1999). Finalists will be announced on October 8.
