As of today, Colorado bookstore chain the Tattered Cover has opened a new location in downtown Colorado Springs, its 11th store and first outside the Denver area. The 8,000-square-foot store features “thousands of books, a full-service bar and café, and a kids area.” Elsewhere, Barnes & Noble has announced an updated store design, featuring new furniture and book rooms meant to create a “curated, cozy, and welcoming space for communities to work, read and browse.” Previous redesigns, such as their Westport, CT store last year, have boasted a “smaller footprint” and “bespoke oak shelving.”
