The Association of American Literary Agents has created The Gailey award, to recognize agent Gail Hochman‘s “exceptional 20 years of service and dedication as the president” of the organization. The new honor will “encourage and acknowledge members who demonstrate outstanding commitment, vision, and service to the Association’s culture, values, and
future.”
The first recipient is agent Vicky Bijur, who also has served as president in the past, and “importantly, for the past 20 years, has safeguarded AALA’s Canon of Ethics,” and currently chair the ethics committee. Hochman will present the award to Bijur on May 23 during their day of educational programming.
