The Financial Times announced the finalists for Best Business Book of the Year, with the winner to be announced on December 5:
Dead in the Water, by Matthew Campbell and Kit Chellel (Portfolio)
Influence Empire, by Lulu Chen, (Hodder & Stoughton)
The Rise and Fall of the Neoliberal Order, by Gary Gerstle (Oxford University Press)
The Power Law, by Sebastian Mallaby, Allen Lane (Penguin Press)
Chip War, by Chris Miller (Scribner)
Disorder, by Helen Thompson (Oxford University Press)
Notably, the award is no longer co-presented by McKinsey, though the change was never announced and our inquiries have not been answered. (Which means no one answered our questions about the status of the separate Bracken Bower Prize, named in part for McKinsey’s transformational leader Marvin Bower.)
