The National Book Foundation announced the Science + Literature program, recognizing “three books annually that deepen readers’ understanding of science and technology,” in partnership with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The award “focuses on elevating the diversity of voices in contemporary science and technology writing through the prize and associated public programs.” The first selected titles, the authors of which receive a $10,000 cash prize, are:
