NBCC Finalists, With Honors for Orange, Corrigan, and Arte Publico Press
The National Book Critics Circle announced 31 finalists in six categories for its 2018 awards, along with three award winners. Arte Público Press wins the Ivan Sandrof Lifetime Achievement Award; Tommy Orange’s novel There There wins the John Leonard Prize recognizing an outstanding first book; and Maureen Corrigan receives the Nona Balakian Citation for Excellence in Reviewing. Former Crown Publishing Group president and publisher Maya Mavjee will join Macmillan on March 1 in the new role of president, publishing strategy, reporting to ceo John Sargent.
