Perseus Crowdsources Search for the 10 Hottest BEA Books

May 24, 2010By Michael Cader

What does Perseus do for an encore after last year’s all-consuming Book: The Sequel BEA project in which they compiled a published a book live during the show? BEA 2010 Party Planner

May 23, 2010By Michael Cader

The party schedule reshapes itself a little as everyone switches gears to the first-ever midweek BEA. As usual, here is our overview of the known celebrants and events so far. Icelandic Volcano Hates Book Fairs?

May 17, 2010By Michael Cader

The Eyjafjallajökull volcano sent up a fresh plume of ash over the weekend, resulting in at least some closures of UK air space. As of now restrictions have been lifted for London’s airports, but clearly international visitors coming to New York for BEA will need to watch the situation carefully and may experience some travel delays.UK airspace siteMet Office update

May 14, 2010By Michael Cader

BEA has issued an advisory on procedures for gaining entrance to Tuesday night’s opening “keynote” interview with Barbra Streisand. Tickets will be distributed through an Opening Night Keynote Ticket Counter in the main convention registration area, and the window will open the day before, Monday, May 24 from 1 to 5, and then again on Tuesday starting at 7 am. They will let people line up for admission starting at noon on Tuesday and doors for the 6 o’clock session will open at 4. “Everyone with a ticket must be seated by 5:45 p.m. or you may lose your seat.” […]
