PRH Waives Minimum Order Requirement for 2-Day Shipping to Indies
This year, Penguin Random House is waiving the minimum-retail-value requirement for independent bookstores ordering titles during the holiday season. From October 1 to March 1, indie stores can order any quantity and–“weather and transport conditions permitting”–receive it within two days or less. PRH president, US Sales Jaci Updike said: “The elimination of minimums will help booksellers become even more responsive to what their customers are looking for. We want to make it as easy as possible for booksellers to build reorders, and are delighted to be able to give indies additional support at this extremely busy time of year.” The […]

IDW Publisher Nachie Marsham said, “IDW succeeds when the Direct Market succeeds. No matter how amazing our comics […]

Distribution: Maryland Hails New PRH Warehouse
About a year ago Penguin Random House first announced the leasing of a 1 million-square-foot distribution center in Hampstead, MD, about 11 miles east of their 1.5 million-square-foot facility in Westminster. Now the Maryland state government has celebrated the opening of that facility, which “over time” will create 150 new jobs. To “assist with project costs,” the state is providing a $325,000 conditional loan, along with a $25,000 workforce training grant. Separately, starting September 1, Artbook | D.A.P. will be distributed by Ingram Publisher Services International in Asia, India, North Africa, and the Middle East.
