Penguin Random House US will open a new distribution center in the UK to supply export sales to continental Europe, which ceo Nihar Malaviya says they “currently expect to be operational next year, likely summer 2025.” Those sales have been serviced from the company’s US warehouse. Penguin Random House Publisher Services will sell and distribute Wattpad Webtoon Book Group frontlist and backlist across all sales channels worldwide starting September 1, moving over from Macmillan. Simon & Schuster will sell and distribute Central Avenue Publishing worldwide starting May 1.

The phazelFOZ Company’s print titles are now distributed by Independent Publishers Group in the US and Canada. Momentum Press is now distributed in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania by Independent Publishers Group’s academic and professional division, Eurospan. Starting on January 1, Hummingbird Press will be distributed by IPG worldwide. Also on January 1, Eurospan will distribute Zophorus Books worldwide and Manohar Books worldwide, excluding South Asia.

Abrams announced it has expanded its partnership with Vendome Press to become its international distributor, beginning July 1. Abrams has been distributing Vendome in North America for 20 years. According to the agreement, Abrams will “distribute Vendome internationally in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, South Africa, and India through Abrams & Chronicle Books, a joint venture that provides full sales and distribution services. Podium Publishing is expanding to “strategically introduce retail print services for their authors” and will distribute those print editions through Two Rivers Distribution. The publisher notes that, “Although Podium’s business model will continue to be anchored in driving audiobook and ebook consumption, this extension will capture unmet demand through traditional print and further serve the needs of authors.” 

Hachette UK has become a shareholder of Flame Tree Publishing, an independent publisher of books, gifts, and art calendars, as of October 31. Hachette UK previously became the company’s distributor. Nick Wells, founder and publisher of Flame Tree, said in a release, “Building on our strong sales, print and licensing relationships, we look forward to a period of stability to allow our creative development to flourish even further.” Flame Tree’s managing director, Frances Bodiam said, “We recently switched from Marston to Hachette Distribution, so we know their positive culture is a good fit, and we look forward to working together […]
