Kathy Dawson will join Penguin Children’s Dial Books in the new position of associate publisher, reporting to Lauri Hornik. She will work help to strategize and develop the list while acquiring and editing both novels and picture books. Dawson was formerly editorial director at Harcourt Children’s.

Judith Regan's Price, Revealed (and She Counterclaims Against Law Firm)
The settlement in January of Judith Regan’s lawsuit against News Corp. and HarperCollins was for $10.75 million, according to a court filing yesterday by Dreier LLP. The firm originally represented Regan in the case, and then sued her in a dispute over their fee after the settlement was reached.Bloomberg Following the revelation, Regan said she is seeking the dismissal of Dreier’s suit against her, arguing that they violated a nondisclosure agreement in revealing her settlement amount.
