Harper Collins   

Ed Spade has been appointed president of sales, reporting to CEO Brian Murray and joining the company’s global executive committee. Spade replaces Josh Marwell, who will remain with the publisher in an advisory capacity until he retires in April. Spade had been interim president of HMH trade prior to its acquisition by Harper and then became svp, online sales.

Murray says in the announcement: “In his short tenure with HarperCollins, Ed has done a tremendous job of enhancing our strategic and operational online sales efforts. Ed has a long history of innovating within the business. His experience on both the publishing and customer sides gives him a unique perspective on the work we do on behalf of our authors and customers. We are excited to have him lead the sales efforts for our US publishing.”

UTA   

Ariele Fredman joins as agent, and will work on building the commercial fiction program. She was previously deputy director of publicity and marketing at Atria.

Erica Stone has been promoted to associate manager, library marketing.

Jasmine Ferrufino has joined as associate, school & library marketing. She was previously library information assistant at New York Public Library.

Penguin Random House Sales Group   

Sasha Sadikot has been promoted to vice president, national accounts.

David C Cook   

Cathy Herholdt has joined as vp of communications.

KF Literary Scouting   

KF Literary Scouting has been appointed scout in the US and UK for Marsilio and Sozogno Editori in Italy, and as scout in the US for Black and White Publishing, a division of Bonnier Books UK Ltd.
