Rebecca Carter Literary   

Rebecca Carter has launched her own agency, Rebecca Carter Literary, after 10 years at Janklow & Nesbit UK. The agency will work in collaboration with PEW Literary for contracts, accounting and translation rights.

CAA   

Karolina Sutton has moved over from Curtis Brown UK to join CAA in its London office. Sutton joins a number of colleagues from the Curtis Brown UK rights department who joined CAA last fall following the acquisition of ICM.

Counterpoint Press   

Founding editor Jack Shoemaker retires from his full-time position today. Going forward, he will continue with selected projects as editor-at-large. Publisher Alyson Forbes says in the announcement, “Jack Shoemaker is a legend who has brought some of our most essential American voices into print. His influence on both California-based publishing and the publishing industry as a whole is incalculable. While we will certainly miss his day-to-day presence, we are excited to continue our relationship with Jack and his iconic authors in a new capacity.”

DAW Books   
Hugo Award winner Navah Wolfe has joined as executive editor.
Simon & Schuster   

Victor Day Hendrickson has joined as vice president, counsel.

Bonnier Books UK   

Sarah Benton will join in April as managing director of the Zaffre Publishing Group, taking over from Kate Parkin. She is currently executive publisher for fiction at Orion.

Daniela Schlingmann Literary Scouting   

The company is now scouting the US and UK markets for Aschehoug in Norway. It has also extended its scouting service to include the US market for existing clients DeAgostini and Utet (non-fiction) in Italy, and People’s Press in Denmark.

Sophie Clarke is promoted to senior scout.
