Sandy Resnick has joined as head of rights. Resnick was previously director of global affiliated publishing & business development at DC Comics.

Legible   

The ereading start-up continues to announce major executive departures, most recently losing chief publishing officer Cameron Drew and chief revenue officer Wai-Ming Yu. Earlier in the month head of accessibility Laura Brady and chief financial officer Helina Patience were let go, after a major restructuring and “streamlining” at the beginning of the month saw the departure of chief technology officer Adam Zouak and announced layoffs of over a third of employees, bringing the company from 60 people down to 37.

 

Books-a-Million   

Pete Zophy has been promoted to senior vice president of E-Commerce, after overseeing “exponential growth of the company’s online division.”

Booksparks   

Grace Fell has been promoted to publicist.

American Booksellers Association   

Raquel Roque at Books & Books in Coral Gables, FL, and Jeff Deutsch at the Seminary Co-op and 57th Street Books, in Chicago were elected to three-year terms on the board. Jenny Cohen at Waucoma Books in Hood River, OR will serve a second term. Cynthia Compton at 4 Kids Books & Toys in Zionsville, IN and Michael Herrmann at Gibson’s Bookstore in Concord, NH will each begin their first full term. Diane Capriola at Little Shop of Stories in Decatur, GA, will fill the co-vice president position vacated by Christine Oronati when she took over as president.

Atlantic Books   

Joanna Lee has joined as commissioning editor for fiction. She was previously with Curtis Brown.
