James Meader has been promoted to vice president, associate publisher, Vintage backlist.

Diana Secker Tesdell has been promoted to senior editor.

Director of publicity Angie Venezia will take over leadership of the Vintage Anchor publicity department, newly reporting to Todd Doughty.

Paula Baver has joined as a designer.

Karen Edwards has been promoted to editorial director of the educational resources team.

Megan Nicolay has joined the trade publishing team as executive editor, novelty, activity & gift.

Namara Smith has joined as story editor, overseeing online books coverage.

Preena Gadher will become managing director as of September 1, reporting to ceo Tom Weldon and filling the position vacated almost a year ago when Joanna Prior moved to become ceo of Pan Macmillan. Gadher is the co-founder of PR agency Riot Communications.

Arabella Stein will lead a new Bright Literary division representing fiction, children’s books, YA, general non-fiction and graphic novels. Katie Blagden was promoted to associate agent in the division.

Paula Baver, previously an adult and children’s designer at Princeton Architectural Press, has joined as a designer.
