Penguin Young Readers

VP, executive director, art & design Deborah Kaplan will retire in September. She has been at PYR for 31 years and has worked on covers for Judy Blume, S.E. Hinton, Jacqueline Woodson, Mildred Taylor, Jon Scieszka, Roald Dahl and others.

EVP, associate publisher Jocelyn Schmidt said, “I have so appreciated Deborah not only as an art director who empowers her designers and the artists to deliver their unique point of view on a cover but also as a manager and mentor to her staff. She has been a communicative, supportive advocate for her group and has seen to it they grow and develop in their careers. She’s always been a strong representative for design within children’s publishing and of Penguin Young Readers as a place to showcase design talent as she maintained a presence in the design world outside of publishing.”

Columbia University Press
Caelyn Cobb, Christine Dunbar, Miranda Martin, and Stephen Wesley have been promoted to senior editor.
Open Road Integrated Media

Hannah Moseley has been promoted to manager, paid marketing.

Penguin Random House Canada
