Publisher Reagan Arthur formally acknowledges the retirement of Jonathan Segal in December as part of parent company Penguin Random House’s voluntary separation offer, and confirms that “he’s agreed to continue to work with us on a limited freelance basis” thereafter. She writes: “Jon’s editorial acumen is indeed the stuff of legend, justifiably acclaimed by countless authors…. Passionate, loyal, with a sharp eye for what works both on the page and in the marketplace, Jon has made an enduring, indelible impact on American letters.”

Cecilia Flores has been promoted to assistant editor.

Quarto   

Debbie Foy will serve as publisher of a new nonfiction imprint for children ages 12 and up, planning “trend-driven content as well as fresh takes on classic topics across a range of areas from popular culture to graphic novels,” with further details planned for later in the year. The line will publish simultaneously in North America and the UK.

International Literary Properties   

Milena Alberti-Perez and Sandy Climan have joined the board of directors. Alberti-Perez was most recently cfo of Getty Images. Climan is ceo of Entertainment Media Ventures.
