People 8/26

August 26, 2022
By Erin Somers

Coffee House Press
Anitra Budd is stepping down as executive director and publisher on August 26, after less than one year in the role. She writes on Twitter, “While I’m leaving CHP sooner than expected, I can attest that the staff has been nothing short of phenomenal, and I’ll be forever grateful for publishing transformative, risk-taking books.”

“I believe my departure will open up exciting possibilities for the press,” she continues. “Please know I have so much faith in our board and staff; they’re the best team possible to steer CHP into a bright future.”
Storytel

Johannes Larcher will join as CEO on October 1. Most recently he was head of HBO Max International, planning and leading the launch of the service in 60 countries, and he oversaw WarnerBros. Discovery’s flagship direct-to-consumer streaming service and its more than 28 million subscribers outside the US.

In addition, the board has nominated three new members “to further strengthen the company in its next phase of growth and development”: Jared Grusd currently chief strategy officer at Chime, formerly an executive at SNAP, Spotify and Google; Lina Brouneus, currently director film acquisition EMEA at Netflix; and technologist and data scientist Lutz Finger.

They are proposed to replace Rustan Panday, Jonas Sjögren and Richard Stern. Panday will remain as advisor to the board and chair of Storytel Books.
