Macmillan   

Maggie Byrd has joined the digital workflows department as associate product manager.

Nicholas Iannacone has joined the technology team as a project manager.

Aurelina Joran has joined as accounting manager.

Molly Kong has joined as an international sales manager on the trade sales team.

Daphne Lopez has joined as a royalty contract administrator.

Matthew Miller has joined the eBook sales team as analyst, sales planning.

Veena Vittal has joined the central analytics team as data architect.

Abigail Burrus has joined as a data scientist.

The company also announced a number of promotions. In production:

Nina Frieman and Vincent Stanley have each been promoted to associate director. Allene Cassagnol and John Nora have been promoted to associate director, children’s production. Janna Dokos and Jason Reigal have become senior production managers. Amanda Gutierrez has been promoted to manager and Offauna Goodman has been promoted to assistant manager.

Additionally, Diego Molano Rodriguez has been promoted to senior national accounts manager and will lead the ebook team. Susan Carner has been promoted to national account manager on the Amazon team and Olivia Kasdin has been promoted to associate national account manager.

Simon Element   

Elizabeth Breeden has joined as senior marketing director. She was previously marketing director at Simon & Schuster.

Fourth Estate   

Nicholas Pearson has been laid off from role as publishing director, after almost three decades with Fourth Estate and a career that included editing and publishing Hilary Mantel and editing Doris Lessing.

He said, “Working for all of these writers, and the many others not mentioned, has been the greatest privilege of my life. I will miss them, and wish them and my colleagues success in the future.”

Aevitas Creative Management   

Kayla Grogan has joined as creative executive, book-to-film & development, joining Allison Warren, vp of development, film & tv.

National Coalition Against Censorship   

Associate professor, School of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois Emily Knox has been elected chair of the board of directors.
