Maya Bradford has joined as director of publicity, heading as expanded department. She was previously senior publicist at Abrams.

Gregory Henry joins as senior publicist; he was previously at Harper Collins. Sammi Sontag joins as publicist; she was previously at Simon & Schuster.

Stuart Krichevsky Literary Agency   

Barbara Jones has joined as a literary agent; she was previously executive editor at Henry Holt.

Stuart Krichevsky wrote, “I’ve always admired Barbara’s excellent taste and editorial acumen, but especially her dedication to the nurture of her authors and her fierce advocacy for them–values she now brings to her work as an agent.”

Elizabeth Mitchell has joined as an executive editor.

Farrar, Straus   

Sarita Varma was promoted to svp, director of publicity, for both Farrar, Straus and Picador, as of September 1.

University of Chicago Press   

Sara Doskow has joined as senior editor for political science and law. Most recently she was at Cambridge University Press.

Mary Laur has been promoted to executive editor for reference and writing guides.

Kyle Wagner has been promoted to editor for religious studies, philosophy, and rhetoric and communication.

David Olsen has been promoted to associate editor for reference.

Dylan Montanari has been promoted to assistant editor for art and ancient studies.

Mark Stewart has been promoted to director of distribution and warehouse operations at the Chicago Distribution Center.

Kristi M. McDonald has been named executive editor, trade.

Greenhouse Literary Agency   

Founder Sarah Davies will retire at the end of the year. Chelsea Eberly will take over as head of the agency on January 1.

Association of American Literary Agents   

Kelly Sonnack of Andrea Brown Literary Agency and Monika Woods of Triangle House Literary have been elected to the board of the AALA. Katie Kotchman (Don Congdon Associates), Ayesha Pande (Ayesha Pande Literary), Farley Chase (Chase Literary Agency), and Regina Brooks (Serendipity Literary Agency) were re-elected for a second term.

Jay Colvin has been hired as senior designer. He was senior designer for Simon Spotlight and Little Simon.
