Distribution: Dark Ink Publishing
Dark Ink Publishing, a venture from self-published fantasy authors Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti, is being distributed by Simon & Schuster. Today they release Restless Stars, the ninth and final book in the series, in a $29.95 trade paperback edition, with an announced 80,000-copy printing. Later this year they will re-release paperbacks of early books in the series, “repackaged with significant enhancements including new covers and a bonus chapter in each edition.”

PEN America Literary Awards Canceled
After weeks of criticism, including the withdrawal of approximately one third of nominated writers, PEN America announced on Monday that it will cancel this year’s Literary Awards ceremony. “We greatly respect that writers have followed their consciences, whether they chose to remain as nominees in their respective categories or not,” PEN America literary programming chief officer Clarisse Rosaz Shariyf said in a release. “We regret that this unprecedented situation has taken away the spotlight from the extraordinary work selected by esteemed, insightful and hard-working judges across all categories. Obituary: Daniel C. Dennett
Philosopher Daniel C. Dennett, 82, died on April 19 at Maine Medical Center of complications of interstitial lung disease. He was the author of Brainstorms and From Bacteria to Bach and Back, among other titles.
