The New York Public Library’s Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center for Scholars and Writers has named its new class of fourteen fellows. The list includes fiction writers David Bezmozgis, Maile Chapman, Mary Gaitskill, and Wells Tower; poet Geoffrey Brock; New Yorker staff writer Larissa MacFarquhar; graphic novelist and artist David Sandlin; and Pulitzer-winning author Annette Gordon-Reed.

Jo Ann Miller, former editorial director of Basic Books, has formed J.A. Miller Associates to provide ghost writing, editorial collaboration, developmental editing, and author coaching.

At Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Maire Gorman has been promoted to the new position of vp of trade sales and children’s marketing. VP of children’s marketing Linda Magram and her group will now report to Gorman.

Cindy Cook joins Cengage Learning next week as chief marketing officer of the academic and professional group. She was chief strategy and marketing officer at Vivendi Games,

Michelin has moved its trade distribution of their guides for North America to NBN) while sharing distribution with Rand McNally for folded and wall maps and European atlases. They were previously distributed by American Map Corporation.

The BISG (Book Industry Study Group) announced yesterday that the ONIX metadata standard now includes a standard means of indicating “agency model” sales terms for e-books.
