Jeanne Emanuel will join the Perseus Books Group later this month in the new position of vp of special and gift sales, based in the Cambridge, MA office and reporting to Matty Goldberg. She was previously executive director of sales for Adams Media.

In promotions at Bloomsbury/Walker/Bloomsbury Press: Benjamin Adams has become a senior editor; Pete Beatty moves up to editor; Margaret Maloney is now an associate editor; Rachel Mannheimer becomes an assistant editor; Carrie Majer has been made a senior publicist; and Jiyeon Dew was promoted to production manager.

At Harper, Maya Ziv and Jason Sack have both been promoted to assistant editor. in recognition of their excellent work at Harper.

The Jerusalem Book Fair is accepting applications for their editor and agent fellowships for the 2011 Fair, with a June 30 submission deadline.

A You Tube video showcasing Penguin’s Empire State of Mind (their own take on the Jay-Z song) had a brief stretch of viral attention after being blogged in a few places yesterday, but was then withdrawn. Apparently it was never intended for public display.

In distribution news, Bright Sky Press is moving to BookMasters Distribution Services for the fall 2010 season. They have been with Independent Publishers Group.

Simon & Schuster, which already distributes Rebellion Publishing‘s Solaris imprint, is adding sales and distribution agreement for the company’ 2000 AD and Abaddon Books imprints as well.
