Margaret Raymo has elected to take the new position of senior executive editor, at Houghton Mifflin Children’s, a “purely editorial role” that will let her focus on discovering and working with authors and illustrators. Raymo says “I’m very happy to be able to put all my energy back into creating books.”

As a result, Mary Wilcox has been promoted to vp, editorial director for Houghton Mifflin Children’s, while continuing as editorial director of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Children’s.

Abrams has hired Lindy Humphreys for the new position of director, digital assets and publishing technology, to “oversee our digital initiatives and help to drive the company’s emerging electronic business opportunities.” She was at Wiley. Web marketing manager Chris Blank has been promoted to senior manager, digital assets and web development, reporting to Humphreys.

At the Harper Media division, Christy Mirabal has been promoted to associate director, Harper Audio;  Esther Kim has been promoted to senior rights associate; and Beth Ives has been promoted to marketing manager, Harper Audio.

New hires for the group are product manager Galit Vaturi and managing editor Isabel Tewes, who was a managing editor for Free Press and Scribner.

As of October 4, Bernadette Baker-Baughman, formerly of Baker’s Mark Literary Agency, will join Victoria Sanders & Associates as an agent.
