Former general manager, digital publishing at Adobe Bill McCoy will join the IDPF as executive director on January 9. Additionally, “in conjunction with Bill’s joining and anticipated future growth, the IDPF is establishing its office location in the Seattle, WA area.”

Matthew Inman joins Hyperion as editor, having most recently been an associate editor at Harper. He will acquire a nonfiction list that includes business, politics, narrative, investigative journalism, and popular culture.

Former publisher and consultant John Kilcullen and literary agent Wendy Strothman are both joining Copyright Clearance Center’s board of directors.

Nikko Odiseos will take over from Peter Turner as president of Shambhala Publications. Odiseos has a technology background, most recently working as senior technical product manager for enterprise search at Microsoft. He overlapped with publishing when working as director of technical sales for Olive Software, which provides a digitization platform and services.

Shambhala evp Sara Hamsa Bercholz (also a co-owner, and daughter of the founder) “will work closely with Odiseos in looking towards the future of this 40 year old company – to pursue new opportunities, publish creatively in a dynamic market, and to succeed in bringing Shambhala’s…message to people around the world.”

The 10-author longlist was announced for the newly revamped Man Asian Literary Prize, including 1994 Nobel laureate Kenzaburo Oe.

To add to the lists, here are the top 20 Book Club hits as calculated by Bookmovement.com, where over 26,000 book club groups are registered. (Their scoring algorithm includes how many clubs read the book; the number of members who read it; how many shared/recommended, etc.):
