John Evans of DIESEL Bookstores in California and Matt Norcross of McLean & Eakin Booksellers in Petosky, Michigan have been nominated to join the ABA board for three-year terms, and Ken White of San Francisco State University Bookstore has been put up for a second term.

Becky Anderson of Anderson’s Bookshops will take over from Michael Tucker as ABA president and Steve Bercu of BookPeople will serve as vice president/secretary.

Gonzalo Ferreyra will join Weldon Owen in San Francisco as director of marketing, print and digital on February 14. Previously, he was vp of sales at VIZ Media and director of sales and marketing at Ten Speed Press.

Among promotions at Abrams: Jason Wells moves up to executive director of children’s marketing and publicity; Tamar Brazis becomes editorial director of Abrams Children’s and Amulet; Maggie Lehrman is senior editor at Abrams Children’s; Liana Allday is senior editor for Stewart, Tabori & Chang; Caitlin Kenney is now assistant editor for Abrams; and Melissa Arnst has been promoted to designer. Meagan Bennett joins Abrams Children’s as associate art director for the new 0-5 program.

Hillary Tisman has joined Atria as imprint marketing manager. She has worked at Random House for the past five years, most recently as advertising and promotions manager for Vintage and Anchor.

Elyse Marshall will join Penguin Children’s as associate director of publicity on February 22. She was most recently publicity manager at Harper Children’s.

Penguin Children’s UK has created a Media and Entertainment group, combining their the BBC, Sunbird and Ladybird licensing teams. Eric Huang will run the new group, promoted to publishing director. Juliet Matthews becomes publisher of BBC Children’s, Ladybird Licensing and Sunbird, reporting to Huang, and Meg Wang has been promoted to editorial director.
