Publisher of Cormorant Books Marc Côté has also been named publisher of Thomas Allen, effective March 1. He replaces Patrick Crean, who is leaving after more than 12 years with the company. “I feel I have accomplished the goals I set out to achieve…namely to launch and establish a thriving new independent publishing house that is nationally recognized for its award-winning and critically well-received books,” Crean said in a statement. “I also feel that in this time of historic change in the book industry, it is a good moment for me to pause and reflect on the essentials of book publishing in the electronic age. I leave knowing the list is in good hands and will continue on.”

Editorial director of Brazil’s Record Publishing Group Luciana Villas Boas has resigned, effective March 31, after seventeen years at the company. She is moving to the US, where she intends to work as a literary agent. Record ceo Sergio Machado will temporarily assume her responsibilities.

Kera Yonker and Jennifer Dedman have joined Perseus/Constellation’s Argo Navis Author Services as client service and marketing managers. Yonker most recently worked in publisher services at LibreDigital, while Dedman spent the past ten years with Perseus in working in the production department, where she managed frontlist print buys for a number of imprints. In addition, Scott Horst has been named digital content project editor. He was most recently a digital asset coordinator for Constellation. Yonker will work out of Perseus’ New York offices while Dedman and Horst will continue to work from Boulder, CO.
