As of Spring 2013, the Potter Style imprint at Clarkson Potter will expand its scope to encompass interior design, style, and wedding books in addition to the gift books already published by the imprint. As a result, Potter senior editor Aliza Fogelson and associate editor Angelin Borsics will also acquire books for Potter Style. Borsics will now report to Fogelson, who continues to report to Doris Cooper. “With this realignment, Potter is even better positioned to leverage our unparalleled editorial strength and directed publishing strategies to foster our authors’ audience growth and brand development and to extend our market reach in our core categories,” Potter svp, publisher Pam Krauss said in a statement.

Jessica Bromberg has joined Grand Central as publicity manager, overseeing the Forever Romance list. Previously she was a publicist at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers.

Author of science fiction novels Harry Harrison, 87, died Wednesday morning. His best known work included the 1966 novel MAKE ROOM, MAKE ROOM!, which was the basis for the 1973 film Soylent Green, and the 12-novel Stainless Steel Rat series, with the most recent entry, THE STAINLESS STEEL RAT RETURNS, published in 2010.

The New Atlantic Independent Booksellers Association has given their Joe Drabyak Handseller of the Year Award to Rob Dougherty of Clinton Book Shop in Clinton, NJ, Shelf Awareness reports.

The finalists for the Thurber Prize for American Humor are Nat DiMeo, Patricia Marx, and Calvin Trillin. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Manhattan on October 1.
