Charlie Conrad will join Gotham Books as executive editor, starting January 7. He had been vp and executive editor at Crown, and worked at Random House Inc. and Bantam Doubleday Dell for 22 years.

F+W Media chief financial officer Jim Ogle has been promoted and adds the additional title of chief operations officer. He has responsibility for all financial functions of the company, as well as all legal matters, production, information technology, and logistics, and “will play a significant role in the development and execution of the company’s strategic plan.”

In Germany, Blessing editorial director Tilo Eckardt will join Swiss-based Mohrbooks Literary Agency in July, when current board president Sabine Ibach steps back from active agenting. Eckardt will help in the transition as Sebastian Ritscher takes over as majority owner and leader of the agency. Blessing is expected to name a successor to Eckardt shortly.

William Boggess has returned to Barer Literary as an agent and client manager, focusing on literary fiction and narrative nonfiction. He was in editorial at Little, Brown after working as an assistant for Barer.

Risa Chubinsky has joined AudioGO as an acquisitions editor. She was previously manager, domestic subsidiary rights, at Penguin.

John Groton has joined Quayside Publishing as director of Quayside Distribution Services. In this role, he will be responsible for overseeing current client publisher relationships, new business development, and custom publishing projects. Previously he was an account executive for ebook publishing at Innodata.
