At the Random House Publishing Group, Andy Ward has been promoted to vp, editorial director, nonfiction, while David Ebershoff moves up to vp, executive editor.

At Crown Archetype, Suzanne O’Neill has been promoted to executive editor, while Talia Krohn moves up to senior editor and Stephanie Knapp has been promoted to associate editor.

Mary McCue has been promoted to senior publicity manager for Gallery and Threshold.

At Inkwell Management, Charlie Olsen has been promoted to agent. He joined Inkwell in 2007 and is interested in commercial fiction; young adult and middle-grade fiction and non-fiction; graphic novels and illustrated works for children and adults; pop culture, and compelling nonfiction.

Wiley vp of corporate communications Susan Spilka is leaving on June 1 after 20 years with the company. Linda Dunbar recently joined the company as director, corporate media relations.

Katherine Boo won the New York Public Library’s Helen Bernstein Book Award for BEHIND THE BEAUTIFUL FOREVERS.

Powell’s announced plans for a modest renovation of their flagship store in Portland, OR — focused on seismic updating of one quadrant of the city block the store occupies, with new lighting, windows, and roof as well. It’s ” the last piece of a long-term movement towards fully upgrading the entire Burnside Building.” Two rooms will be closed for the renovation, but “the store will continue normal operations throughout the project.”
