Susan Batcheller has been promoted to group commercial operations director of the Walker Books Group, while continuing in her role as vp, marketing services and sales operations at Candlewick. In addition, David Macmillan has joined as group export product and sales manager. Previously he was senior US sales manager for Templar Books in the UK.

In the UK, Penguin veteran and legal and human resources director Helena Peacock has been named group legal director for Penguin Random House UK, reporting to Ian Hudson. Random House UK human resources director Neil Morrison has been made Penguin Random House UK group HR director, reporting to both Hudson and Tom Weldon.

Katie Halata will join Macmillan Children’s as the school and library marketing manager. She has been sales and marketing manager at Egmont USA.

Allison Hill has been promoted to ceo of Vroman’s. Joel Sheldon, who has been ceo since 1978, will remain chairman of the board, saying in a statement that Hill, currently president and coo, “really acted as the CEO. I believe her integrity, commitment and leadership are unsurpassed. Allison is clearly the person to lead Vroman’s into the future.”
