At Henry Holt, Serena Jones has been promoted to senior editor, while Paul Golob moves over as executive editor while continuing to manage the imprint’s relationship with the New York Times. Both Jones and Golob will report to Gillian Blake.
Ashley Gilliam has joined Scribner as assistant publishing manager. Previously she was an editorial assistant at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Knopf vp, executive editor Jordan Pavlin is the latest subject of Poets & Writers’ ongoing interview series with agents and editors. The whole piece is worth reading, but of particular note is what Pavlin has to say about working as an assistant for St. Martin’s Press (“it was a wonderful place to be young. There was an extraordinary pool of assistants. I was there with Bill Thomas and Reagan Arthur and Cal Morgan, all of whom have gone on to have extraordinary careers. It was also a place where there was very little sense of hierarchy”), being hired by Sonny Mehta sixteen years ago — “I am so grateful. This is the life I dreamed of. It’s the work I love. It’s a gift” — and losing Jennifer Egan to Scribner: “It took me about four months to peel myself off the floor. That was one of the hardest moments in my professional life. I wish her only the best and I miss her terribly.”
Finally, to clarify one aspect of Nielsen’s acquisition of several Bowker market intelligence products: Because Pacstream is not a Bowker asset, it is only Pacstream’s reseller relationship with B2Be in Australia that is being transferred to Nielsen.
