Crown is designating specialized vertical marketing teams for the imprints that comprise Crown Archetype, to create “even more focused, specialized teams with expertise within our respective core categories.” Meredith McGinnis has been promoted to director of marketing for Harmony Books, focused on health, wellness, spirituality, and self-improvement, with marketing manager Christina Foxley working only on Harmony titles. Julie Cepler moves over to serve as director of marketing for Archetype, Crown Forum, and Three Rivers Press, while Tommy Cabrera is promoted to marketing associate for those imprints. VP, director of marketing and publicity for Crown Business Tara Gilbride will continue in her position.

Author A.M. Homes and photographer Susan Unterberg are taking over as the first-ever co-chairs of Yaddo.

As you might have expected, Constantin Films has delayed principal photography on their planned second Mortal Instruments movie following low box office receipts for City of Bones. The company said, “Pushing back the start of production of City of Ashes was a decision we did not take lightly. But after speaking with all of our partners on the creative and distribution side, it was clear that it will be beneficial to have more time to reposition the film in the current marketplace.”

Random House announced a May 6, 2014 publication date for Ruth Reichl‘s first novel DELICIOUS — which the publisher acquired (and announced) three years ago, a NYT story notwithstanding. In that original September 2010 announcement, Reichl was also made an editor-at-large for Random House, but spokesperson Theresa Zoro concedes that she has been busy writing ever since and has not acquired any books for the company. Reichl is still under contract for the other two books announced in 2010 (a cookbook, and a memoir about her days at Conde Nast), and has now signed for two more novels. Separately, Random also announced a December 31 publication date for their first book from David Zinczenko, EAT IT TO BEAT IT!

Kobo will launch in the Philippines, working in partnership with the country’s National Book Store.
